Measuring or gauging flows in rivers is an analogous process to sewer flow monitoring, one of Indepth Survey's main activities.

As flow measurement contractors we are mainly employed to carry out short term flow surveys. However, river gauging often needs to be more permanent and in this we can provide the data for the design of the permanent station and can call on the services of a top consulting engineer experienced in open channel flow gauge design.

Over the past 10 years we have carried out a number of projects which have included measuring flows in rivers. Each river is unique and an understanding of where best to position or build a gauging point and what type of gauging equipment to use in a temporary or permanent situation is very important.
